Kinesis: How to keep and raise
                a psychic-type!

About the Webmaster

I'm Elan (she/they), I'm in my 30s, I work as a network admin, and my hobby is looking into and taking care of psychic-type pokémon. That's kinda what I wrote on the homepage too. There's not a lot else about me that's really relevant to the actual purpose of this site.

I would say my "partner" pokémon is a Porygon2, which might be a little weird to hear since this is a site about psychic-types. I first got him because of my job, but I've gotten really attached to him since then. I keep him updated with the latest official firmware plus some addons so he can help me with my job, but I'm not all that proficient with modding him myself. He kinda just learns on his own anyways. No idea how. Also, his name is Wireduck.

My childhood partner pokémon is a Zangoose. I got her when I was really young because my parents thought I needed a big scary pokémon to protect me when I walked around on my own (we named her Meatgrinder). And it worked pretty well, to be fair. Except I don't really do battling nowadays, so she's just here chilling now. However, having a pokémon that freaks out at the sight of anything vaguely Seviper-shaped isn't ideal in a workplace with a ton of cables, though. Which brings me to...

Porcelain, the Kirlia. I heard psychic-types were good partners for pokémon with anxiety or other special needs, so I decided to get one. I heard Ralts are very timid, so I got myself a Kirlia instead. And it has worked out pretty well! Kirlia aren't naturally protective or caring like pokémon such as Indeede or even Gardevoir, but it's been working out extremely well for us. That was ten years ago, and that was what inspired to look more into psychic-type pokémon.

That's about all the pokémon I take care of on the regular. Computer rooms usually don't have enough space for more than two reasonably-sized pokémon per person, so I keep Wireduck in cyberspace most of the time. However, I do take care of some of the pokémon the company I work for owns, and help out at shelters and such whenever I can.

Like I mentioned previously on the homepage, I don't really have any sort of formal training, but I do enjoy reading out papers when I should be doing my actual job, and have at least ten years of experience handling psychic-types, so I would say I'm somewhat qualified in the subject.

A lot of the knowledge in this site was gathered from personal experiences, so don't expect to find some of this stuff in the pokédex. It's not like the pokedéx is very accurate anyways — a lot of the entries are hyperbolic to motivate kids to go learn on their own — but I still wanted to make mention of it.
